CYCLEOPS - VISUAL BRAND LANGUAGE (VBL) & PRODUCT DESIGN
By 2011 CycleOps was well known by serious cyclists as the leader in precision power meters, but strong competition from companies like Garmin was brewing. They knew that in order to take their brand to the next level, and to become a household name with casual and serious cyclists alike, they needed to better define their brand language to create a holistic product line that emanated the key pillars of their brand. I assisted CycleOps in establishing these pillars, how to visually communicate those pillars and their application to their product line.
This project was completed in 2012, with a subsequent project completed in 2013 when CycleOps created the Powertap brand to further separate their power meter segment from other business ventures.
